Pick four themes, not forty keywords
Choose themes your desk already knows: process, how-tos, project lessons, and industry explainers. Each post should answer one question a client has asked in the last year. If you cannot imagine a real person searching for it, skip it. Search volume without expertise produces thin pages — the same problem Google flags on empty marketing sites.
Ship on a rhythm you can staff
Two solid posts a month beat eight rushed ones. Batch research on one day, draft on another, and publish with a meta description, internal links, and a hero that matches the topic. Link from service pages to relevant articles so visitors can go deeper instead of looping the quote form.
Finish the post
A publish-ready article has a title that states the outcome, short sections, and a last paragraph that tells the reader what to do next. It is not a keyword list. It is not a press release. If a paragraph could sit on any competitor site unchanged, rewrite it with your process, your constraints, and your examples.
How we run blog retainers
We map topics, draft with headlines, add internal links, and write meta descriptions. Delivery can be weekly or per post. The aim is a domain that looks like an authority over a quarter, not a burst of ten posts in a week and silence after that.
